I started this blog one year ago today, I had no idea what I was doing other than I wanted to share my year end list and the hip hop head section of reddit had an anti "posting your 'listicles' policy" so I decided to make a blog to showcase my honorable mentions and picks for the best hip hop albums of 2016.
Until I came to the conclusion that people mostly make videos of the youtube variety. Most people don't read and it saddens me cause all I wanted was recognition for my writing on music.

To tell the truth, I don't really want to start making youtube videos cause I feel youtube is saturated enough with those types of videos, but youtube is the best way to get attention, so maybe if I'm attention starved enough in the future I'll start making videos but you need to damn near be a director to get started, not to mention the hate, and the little bit of money you get off the videos is like not even cool.
But like I said, maintaining a blog OR starting a youtube channel is hard work enough as it is. Let me just take a few baby steps and focus on posting more than once a month lol.
People do read this blog interestingly enough though, which is crazy cause I feel like people read it but don't say anything.
But anyway, enough rambling, what's next for this blog?
Well, definitely a best of list coming soon, I'm going to start off with the best guest verse of 2017 (meaning best verse where a rapper was featured on another rapper's song and absolutely murdered it)
Then a most disappointing list (only top 5), then a top 5 (or 10, depending on how much non hip hop I enjoyed in 2017) non hip hop list.
Then finally, a top 17 25 honorable mention list of hip hop albums I enjoyed, then my actual top 17 albums of 2017, and finally, an 'other' favorites of 2017 post (favorite music videos, favorite music memes, etc.)
Yeah, I wait until the year is literally over to make my lists cause honestly you never know, my favorite everything could drop literally on December 31st, 2017 and mess my whole list up lol.
Right now, I have a laundry list of 2017 albums I still need to listen to, and I'll try to get to them before I get to my honorable mention lists and top project lists but if I don't I'm still putting out the lists, cause I can't listen to everything. (Believe me, I've honestly tried to listen to everything last year, but I realized I couldn't and learned a valuable lesson).
Yeah, thanks for making it through this rambling post, I'm gonna post my socials down below and attempt to write out the rest of my "Best guest verses of 2017" post before I inevitably pass out from all the champagne I imbibed today for New Year's Eve. ( No, I don't think it's a gay drink.)
