March Madness Day 15: SOB X RBE - Gangin

Cover Art for SOB X RBE's "Gangin"
Quick review of the Vallejo collective that got major attention from being featured on the Black Panther soundtrack curated by one Kendrick Lamar himself.

Thought their self titled debut last year was more consistent all the way through. "Gangin" does have better production, but some songs are better than others, it doesn't help that it doesn't feel like a group effort like their last project did. The songs do go in are some of the best from the group though (Carpoolin, No Discussion). I liked the little solo showcase from slimmy B on "God" and Daboii on "Paid in Full" but they could've saved those tracks for their own solo efforts (esp. God). When I listen to a sob x rbe project I want the whole group going in all of the time.

So basically, I thought their last project was better and most consistent throughout but "Gangin" isn't a misstep or a disappointment or anything like that, it still goes hard but some songs are clearly better than the others and it feels less like a group effort than last time.
